We want to help our existing businesses grow and attract new businesses to provide desired products and services for river enthusists. What kinds of businesses, products and services do paddlers want/need in Charles City?

Is their a business actually interested in stocking items? If so the main items to stock(stuff most often forgotten) would be;
Nose plugs, spray skirts,helmets, float bags, water socks/shoes, pfd/life jacket(paddling style), and WW paddles cheap but good for a backup(doubtful anyone will forget thier stick a drop $400 for a new bent shaft carbon paddle). NRS of Moscow, ID is an gear manufacturer and wholesaler of WW merchandise. Other ideas for local businesses would be to have some apparel. I can't believe there hasn't been any hats or Tshirts with a logo or something. Hopefully before Riverfest someone will step up. These are my suggestions from a newish kayakers point of view. -
Thanks Farmer_John! We do have businesses interested in stocking some inventory, and we want to help them make educated choices. We've also have some interest in starting related businesses. We just need to really sell people that this is an investment worth making.
Any other forums we should be having this discussion on to collect as much information as possible to share with the business community? -

We just had a riverfront building get listed today that would be great for a river-related business. This property at 610 S Grand is just down river from the course across from the natural play area.

Check out CKS, Colorado Kayak Supply for gear/stocking. I buy most my gear from there. Sometimes NRS stuff is just too cheap.
